Hostel is a Home away from Home and every student who chooses to reside in it, is expected to make it his/her own Home and live like a family. The residents of the hostel are required to maintain order and discipline in the hostel to make their stay a happy one abiding by the rules and regulations which are as follows:
- The supervision and control of students residing in all the hostels of MVM Group of Institutions will rest with the Management of MVM Group of Institutions, Bangalore.
- The Resident Wardens with the assistance of Supervisors will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the hostel and maintenance of discipline.
- Room allotment shall be done by the authorities. Students shall not interchange their room with another into vacant room/bed without prior written permission from the Warden. The Wardens have the right to shift any student from his/her room to another room in the hostel. If Students are found changing Hostel Rooms without warden’s permission, fine of Rs.1000/- will be imposed.
- The student shall pay Hostel fee for one year as onetime payment, the term for the hostel fee is one academic year as per the academic calendar of the institute. Students Once admitted shall not be permitted to withdraw from the hostel till the course ends. If the students drop out from hostel before the academic term completion, they shall completely clear the hostel fees for the academic year.
- The admission will be done only after obtaining proper undertaking from the Parents/Guardian and the student in the prescribed format.
Discipline
- Every student admitted to the hostel shall maintain discipline in the hostel campus. All disputes, misunderstandings that might occur between roommates or other students in the hostel shall be settled amicably without the involvement of outsiders. Under any circumstances when (a group of) students face any difficulty in interpersonal relationship which cannot be settled mutually it should immediately be reported to the Warden, who will try to settle the issue, failing which the matter will be referred to the Management. Under no circumstances, shall a student resort to physical assault on any other student.
- Students are expected to occupy the rooms allotted to them by the wardens. Without prior permission, no student shall shift or change the rooms. No outsider/stranger is permitted to visit the hostel.
- In case of any misunderstandings or arguments among students, they are expected to solve themselves. Unresolved, the In-house counsellor can mediate. No outsiders are permitted inside hostel, if any indulgence of outsiders is found, fine of Rs.5000/- will be imposed.
- Staying back in Hostel: No student shall stay back in the hostel during class hours. Those who fall sick may however stay back in the hostel only after taking consent from the warden. Leave application should be signed by the Warden and Class coordinator before it is forwarded to the Principal.
- Hospitalisation: The student is required to follow the guidelines fixed by the Management both for outpatient and inpatient treatment. All the expenditures must be paid by the student subsequently. Guidelines: When a student is admitted to the hospital, the parents will be informed immediately, through the mobile/landline numbers given by the student to the college office at the time of admission.
- Attendance: The residential wardens will take attendance everyday at 8:30 pm. The students who are not present and without genuine reason will be considered as absent in the hostel and necessary action will be taken. A movement register will be maintained in the hostel for students who are permitted to go out of the hostel for genuine reasons during their stipulated days of outing. The students are expected to enter their names, time of departure and arrival. & reason for the outway
- The management will pay the Hostel Electricity Bill up toRs.700/-per flat. Any amount more than that is to be beared by the students of respective Hostel rooms.
Leave
- Students going to their native place during holidays have to submit their leave application with principal signature to the Residential Warden with the following details:
- Date and time of departure and return.
- Address and phone number (if any) of destination
- Signature of the Students on their arrival should report to the warden in person. In case of emergency, Warden can also grant the leave, provided the parents contact him as well, it will be brought to the notice of the Principal.
- Ragging is an offense. As per the law promulgated by Karnataka Government Ragging is a punishable criminal offence. Ragging is strictly prohibited in the college campus as well as in the hostel. Any student/students involved in such activities will be immediately suspended and after enquiry expelled from the hostel and college and simultaneously information will be passed on to the police.
- Students staying in the hostel are prohibited from smoking, consumption of alcoholic liquors, chewing of tobacco and using intoxicating drugs in the hostel. In case students are found in possession or consuming or under their influence, the management has the full right to take disciplinary action and dismiss such students
- The warden has the right to enter any room for verification at any time. The chairman, advisor, Administrator or the Principal and Academic Advisor may visit the hostel during every day's study hours (9.00pm to 11:00pm).
- When leaving the rooms for attending classes or for vacation, etc., fans and lights etc., should be switched off.
- Rough handling of dining hall furniture, room furniture or any furniture/property or fittings of the hostel will result in imposition of fines.
- Using any personal heating appliances in the room is prohibited and is punishable. Students should immediately bring to the notice of the management if any breakage in the electric circuit/connections and prevent any type of anticipated accidents.
- Cleanliness in the Hostel: Students are responsible for the cleanliness of their rooms. Even though the House keeping members do the cleaning of floors, wash basin, bathrooms and toilet, cleanliness and folding of bed sheets etc., must be done by the students themselves. All the waste articles should be deposited in the dustbins provided in the hostel and they should not be thrown out through the windows or flung around the room
GENERAL
- During the working days of college, hostel food will be provided to the students on leave only on the condition that they have their leave approved by the principal due to health issues or due to being sick,
- Students going on vacation are required to pack their books and other personal belongings and keep them in their room safely.
- Students are also advised to take care of their valuables by making use of lockers.
- STUDY HOURS: Students will have study hour from 9:00pm to 11:00pm. Students shall strictly study and not disturb anyone else. No group studies allowed. Any one making any kind of disturbance or found to be disturbing others will face disciplinary action.
- HOSTEL MESS: All the residents of the hostel will take food in the hostel mess only.
- Students are expected to maintain perfect discipline and order when they are present in the dining hall.
- Any complaint, suggestions or feedback should be directed only to the manager, warden or Hostel authorizes. Complaints to any other working staff will not be entertained.
- Food allergies or any other specific issues should be informed while writing the application during admission.
- Students are supposed to keep their valuable belonging at their own risk and the management shall not be responsible for any loss & avoid carrying expensive jewellery with the students.
